Conservation of PANICKER HOUSE

Restoration of a Traditional Nalukettu House, Thiruvalla

It is to the full credit of the owner of this house to have bought a dilapidated building and restore it. Since the entire building is built with timber walls, it was an expensive affair also. Our office could also be part of this conservation process. The timber members were badly damaged due to termite attack and water infiltration. The varnish and paints which were applied over the years were also removed. Credit goes to the carpenters who were the master craftsmen and they are very proud of the work they have done. I am giving some photos of the before and after images, although the work is still going on.
