The Golden Age Of Muziris - The New Indian Express

"The article published in City Express-New Indian Express explains the Muziris Project and the history associated with it. The current developments in the heritage project and the progress are also explained in detail.

The first phase of the Muziris Heritage Tourism Circuit launch is anticipated soon, with the inauguration to be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Renovations of seven museums, including Paliam Dutch Palace,Paliam Nalukettu,Kottayil Kovilakam,Kesari Balakrishna Pillai Memorial Museum, Cherai Sahodaran Ayyappan Memorial Museum, and Kunjikuttan Thamburan Convention Centre, have been completed. The second phase of the project has already started. Renovation of Pallipuram fort,construction of an excavation site museum in Pattanam,Kesavadev memorial museum,Christian history museum in Kottakavu,renovation of Paravur and Kottapuram Market are the projects to be completed within a year.

The project gives a glimpse of the cultural and historical backgrounds of the regions of Paravur,Cherai and Kodungallur. It will aid in the creation of local jobs, and the traditional arts being performed will provide knowledge of Kerala's art forms. Campaigns being initiated as a part of the project like ""Clean Muziris,Green Muziris"" will improve the look of the regions involved in it.

The Muziris Heritage Project will talk about the 3000 year history of Kerala. The primary aim of the project is the conservation of heritage. It was developed as an alternate approach to sustainable heritage management and sustainable tourism,says Benny Kuriakose, the chief consultant of the project."
