The sixth-anniversary special issue of Architecture and Interior Design Magazine India talks about the best architects and interior designers in India who have mentored talent over the years and have had a very strong influence on shaping the creative minds of today. And then we have The Hottest 100 Architects and Designers of the country, who were asked to tell us why theirs is the best profession to be in and list their favourite architects and materials. Benny Kuriakose is featured as one among them.

“This is a profession where creativity, truthfulness, sincerity and commitment can produce first class work. Design can change the quality of life of other people and society can benefit from your design. There can be times when the users may think of the designer who has created the product,” he says. Kuriakose admires the work of Laurie Baker, Hassan Fathy, Geoffrey Bawa, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright and Peter Zumthor. Some of his favourite materials are timber, natural stone, fired clay bricks and tiles, earth, concrete and glass.
