Benny Kuriakose is one of India’s prominent names in green architecture, be it in the rehabilitation villages for victims of the Latur and Kutch earthquakes or the re-design of the tsunami-affected villages of Chinangudi and Nagapattinam. He talks to Fwd Life magazine about his design philosophy, inspiration, heritage conservation and a few of his favourite projects. And to surpass all, he is the chief consultant for the Sustainable Heritage Conservation project such as the Muziris Heritage Project.

Talking about the Muziris Heritage Project, he says, “As one being involved in conservation for the last 25 years, I have seen many historic buildings disappearing. Perhaps Muziris Heritage Project might put a stop to this. This will make the people aware that heritage is something.” Further, he explains his inspiration as “I am influenced by my clients, fellow professionals, and all the craftsmen with whom I worked.
